The complete guide to downloading Instagram & Facebook media
Everything in one place
Download an Instagram Reel or video
Open Instagram, find the reel or video, and tap the three-dot menu (or the paper-plane Share icon). Choose Copy Link.
Open the InstaMP4 Instagram downloader, paste the link into the box, and tap Download. Save the HD MP4 to your device.
Download an Instagram photo or carousel
Copy the post link the same way. Single photos download as full-resolution JPG.
For carousels (multi-photo posts), each image is offered separately so you can grab one or all of them.

IGTV and longer videos work exactly like reels — copy the link, paste, and download the MP4.
Download a Facebook video or Reel
On Facebook, click the three-dot menu on the video and choose Copy link, or copy the URL from your browser's address bar. fb.watch and share links work too.

On iPhone (iOS)
Everything runs in Safari or Chrome — no app needed. After downloading, tap the file and use Save to Files, or long-press to save video to Photos. iOS may put the file in the Downloads folder in the Files app first.
On Android
Use Chrome or your default browser. Downloads land in your Downloads folder and appear in Gallery. No app or permissions to grant.
On desktop (Windows / Mac)
Paste the link and the file downloads to your usual Downloads folder. Handy for saving in bulk before editing.

Download several posts in a row
There's no daily limit, so you can work through a batch quickly: copy a link, paste, download, then clear the box with the × and paste the next one.
On desktop this is fastest — files drop straight into your Downloads folder, so you can queue up a whole series before you start editing.

Troubleshooting
“Private or unavailable.” The account or post is private, deleted, or age-restricted — only public media can be downloaded.
Nothing happens. Double-check you pasted a full link (starting with https://) and that it points to a single post, reel, or video.
Instagram link fails intermittently. Instagram rate-limits automated access; wait a moment and try again.
Facebook video won't resolve. Make sure it's a public video. Private, friends-only, and age-restricted videos can't be downloaded.
Is downloading legal?
Downloading public media for personal use — rewatching offline, saving your own posts, keeping a reference — is generally fine. Republishing someone else's content, or using it commercially without permission, can infringe copyright and breach platform terms. When in doubt, credit the creator and ask first.
